ISCS was born from the cooperation between Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia, and Kanazawa University, Japan, on the enhancement of graduate students’ education in the field of computational science and numerical mathematics. It aims at providing an occasion to present and exchange results and ideas related to these research fields for young researchers worldwide but also cordially welcomes papers from senior professors and scientists. The symposium seeks submissions from academia and industry presenting novel research on all aspects of computational science and applied mathematics.
This year, The Fifth International Symposium on Computational Science (ISCS 2012) will be held in Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. ISCS 2011 was held in Kanazawa, Japan, February 15-17 and continued and extended the traditions of previous conferences in the series: ISCS 2007 in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia; ISCS 2008 in Kanazawa, Japan; and ISCS 2009 in Sanur, Bali, Indonesia.

Guna memacu Publikasi Karya Ilmiah di Indonesia, Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi (DIKTI) mengeluarkan ketentuan baru terkait Publikasi Karya Ilmiah Mahasiswa S1, S2, dan S3. Mahasiswa yang lulus setelah Agustus 2012 diberlakukan ketentuan untuk mempublikasikan karya ilmiahnya sesuai dengan Surat Edaran DIKTI Nomor : 152/E/T/2012 (dapat di baca di bagian bawah artikel).
Para mahasiswa diharapkan bersiap diri bila ketentuan DIKTI ini menjadi peraturan resmi di Universitas Gadjah Mada nantinya. Mahasiswa harus melakukan penelitian yang berkualitas dan orisinal agar karyanya dapat dimuat pada jurnal ilmiah.
